Lia Ogan is a self-driven emerging talent from the city of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria.
She grew up with eleven siblings, who learned from each other, discovering their love for the arts.
I grew up in a huge underprivileged family. My parents couldn’t afford to take me to school, so I worked my way from an early age of 14, training myself in the field of fashion.
I met my life partner and soulmate through a good friend of mine. He was fascinated by how passionate I was about fashion designing, and instantly took interest in helping me pursue my aspirations.
When we moved to Dubai, it struck me that this was the chance for me to show my talent to the world. I started designing my collection, and through research, I found Runway Dubai. I was excited to know that a platform that nurtures fashion talent, exists in Dubai.
It took years for my dream to be manifested, and I cannot believe that I will finally be on the Runway Dubai platform. This will be my first fashion show ever, and I am happy for the chance that I have been given to prove myself.
Lia’s first collection is inspired by ornithology and its impact on nature, and she will be using a lot of feathers and beads as adornment to her pieces which are uniquely made by hand.
